As a result, income stocks have lower volatility as compared to the overall stock market, limiting an investor’s exposure to risk.
Compared to growth stocks, companies issuing income stocks are less likely to reinvest their earnings into research and development, thus generating a high dividend yield. On the other hand, companies issuing income stocks have fewer opportunities to expand, and growth potential is limited.
